On August 19, 2005, Reel Angels traveled to Austin, Texas, for a very incredible event! Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, producer Elizabeth Avellan, and three of their sons, Rocket, Racer and Rebel Rodriguez, made a very special visit to the patients and families of Childrens Hospital of Austin! The Rodriguez family shared a special sneak peek of the "behind the scenes" featurette with the young movie-goers, screened the film, and visited individually with children who were unfortunately not well enough to leave their rooms. After the screening, everyone was treated with autographed posters and copies of Max's Journal: The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. All who participated, including the children, their families and friends, and staff, had a truly wonderful time. Reel Angels is extraordinarily grateful to the Rodriguez family for their kind generosity, and their willingness to bring such joy to the kids and families of Childrens Hospital of Austin.
